The county outdoor bowls league season got off to a cold start with all three teams from GW Staniforth taking part.The A team entertained Hingham A and won 62-56 (3�-1�): S Stevenson, T Bingham, A Stevenson, D Betts, won 26-17; D Peaks, J Downie, A Smith, M Struthers, drew 16-16; B Mosby, J Gardner, A Byford, P Scott,lost 20-23.

The B team also at home played Wymondham Dell C and had a very good win 71-40 (5-0): T Novell, C Gibson, D Leigh, R Beatie won 25-18; M Rutter, M Osborne, D Kay, J Wright, won 19-10; E Melton, D Branch, D Beattie, W Pattee, won 27-12.
The C team under new captain John Kew travelled to play Hingham B and came away with a creditable two points out of the possible five losing 53-58 (2-3): R Horsenell, G Bradshaw, J Anderson, W Brame, won 21-15; D Stacey, B Greenaway, M Burrows, G Farthing lost 15-29; S Brider, M Hassey, S Crisp, J Kew won 17-14.
