Brecks Ladies stay top despite defeat

The Brecks Ladies were beaten for only the third time this season when they went down 48-55 (1-7) to Gallow, but still retain top spot.

Scores: C Branch, T Scott, P Struthers 10-15; J Gardner, J Doubleday, V Gibson 11-15; K Farthing, M Hollowood, R Smith 18-8; M Robinson, A Melton, J Shepherd 9-17.

The Men's B team entertained Browston Hall B and had a good win 98-81 (6-1). Scores: S Ferney, Friend, J Kennedy, S Davey 28-15; W Brewer, C Goddard, W Boast, G Hollowood 24-23; S Brider, R Key, J Anderson, L Robinson 24-14; B Sales, S Stones, T Lamb, A Lacey 22-29.

Playing Browston Hall in the County Mixed League the Brecks had a 117-34 win to confirm themselves as champions. Scores: M Hollowood, T Scott, D Peaks, M Struthers 42-8; K Farthing, A Lacey, P Struthers, R Barnbrook 16-12; I Peaks, R Smith, G Farthing, J Gardner 34-9; P Lacey, L Cooper, G Hollowood, P Scott 25-5.

The Brecks travelled to West Row for a friendly and after a very enjoyable afternoon lost 50-60. Scores: S Brider, K Farthing, D Branch, D Peaks 22-16; I Peaks, C Branch, G Farthing, L Robinson 13-27; M Robinson, T Scott, G Hollowood, P Scott 15-17.
