Brandon Town, 2007 Cup winners held onto the Snailwell Cup for another year after running out 2-0 winners against a very determined West Wratting team.

Wratting had themselves won the competition in 2006.

Cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd, both teams played out a goalless first half with West Wratting having the greater share of the ball but unable to convert their possession into goals.

Brandon came out better organised in the second half and after 10 minutes Sean Brown broke the deadlock with a header from a Mark Winstone free-kick to make it 1-0 to the cup holders.

The match remained well balanced and competitive throughout and as West Wratting continued to chase the equaliser, with just a few minutes remaining, man-of-the-match Kevin Sobiechowski intercepted a pass on the edge of the West Wratting box and, keeping a cool head, slotted home the decisive second goal to seal victory for Brandon Town.

The final was well supported and several hundred pounds were raised for local charities.
