Brandon Town lost at Acle United in one of the few matches to take place on Saturday.
The pitch was deemed playable on Saturday morning and was a testament to the groundsman.
Driving rain throughout the game meant only the die-hard spectators braved the elements.
Acle dominated the early exchanges and Town were thankful that Corston was alive to any threats to the visitors' goal.
Brandon took the lead when his long clearance saw a mix-up between defender and keeper giving Brown the chance to steer the ball into an open goal.
Acle were soon level as some slick passing was well finished to give the home side a deserved leveller.
Waites fired over from close range and Brown saw his shot well saved as Town got a foothold in the game.
The second half belonged to Acle as Brandon struggled to cope with the relentless pressure from the home side.
Their winner came directly from a corner which Corston misjudged, but he had already saved Town more than once.
The final minutes saw Town push forward without creating any clear chances.
Both sides were a credit but the home side showed greater hunger in the final third and got the rewards as Brandon looked to contain their attacking aspirations.
