BRANDON Town took advantage of localised sunshine as they defeated AFC Norwich 3-2 in the only match in the division to move to the top of the Anglian Combination Premier table.

A bitter northerly wind made life difficult for both teams although Town created the better chances in the early stages.

Brandon took the lead when Waites through ball saw Wright beat the defender for pace and finish coolly. Town should have been further ahead but wasted several good opportunities.

The second half saw the visitors come out with determination; they drew level when a defensive mix-up allowed Blanco to score.

They went ahead when Cosgrave finished at the back post. Town got back level when a back pass to the keeper saw Waites' quick free-kick gave Leech the simplest of finishes.

A free-flowing game saw both teams miss good opportunities but Brandon were pushing the visitors deeper as time wore on.

The winner came from a Waites cross that Wright squeezed under the keeper, who despite his best efforts could not stop the ball crossing the line.

A tough month ahead for Brandon sees them travel to North Walsham, 3pm kick-off.
