WATTON (Loch Neaton) Bowls Club hosted their first match of the new season against the Norfolk Masonic Bowls Club on May 1.
Despite the weather forecast for the area of heavy rain, the club enjoyed a dry sunny afternoon with a most enjoyable match, followed by a lunch in the Gallery Bar of the Watton Sports Centre.
Watton won the match with a very close margin of just three shots.
On May 4, a team of four players travelled to Wymondham to play in the Norfolk EBA knockout competition.
As the match progressed it was getting dark and both teams were “level pegging” when the final 21st end was reached.
This required that a further end had to be played to have a winner.
