Steve Bennett (3rd Dan) has been teaching Kickboxing classes in Thetford for three years now, and recently seven of his students, made the trip to the heart of Birmingham, to take their Black Belt grading.

The venue was the Temple Martial Arts Headquarters, where during the day over 30 Kick boxers from all over the country were put through a grueling syllabus of heavy bag work, shadow boxing/kickboxing, pad work, power kicking to a shield, sparring, 16 technical sets.

The students from Thetford, Charlotte Howard-Bennett, Corrie Wilson, Lola Brown, Billy Brown, Carl Offer, Sarah Brighten and Paul Bland, spent months planning for this event.

They regularly attended classes to improve and perfect their technique, power and flexibility. They also took on personal training schedules to improve their endurance and fitness, by swimming, cycling and running.

For any Martial Artist it is their ultimate dream to achieve this prestigious award that signifies their hard work, dedication and self control.

Steve would like to take this opportunity to publicly congratulate all seven of the students on gaining a black belt 1st Dan.

He said: “It is a wonderful thing for any Instructor to see a student rise through the ranks to become a black belt, but seven from one grading is unheard of, and I'm very proud of them, they are a shining example to us all.”

All the students (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced) who train at the Thetford, Weeting and Watton classes are all enjoying the 'supercharged' atmosphere that the recent success has created.
