Applications are open for Thetford Athletics Club’s annual road race, the Breckland 10k.

The 10-kilometre course starts and finishes in Croxton and takes in the roads leading away from the village as they wind their way towards East Wretham although turning the athletes around before they reach Wretham for the final run in back towards Croxton.

A popular event, the Breckland 10k, which this year is chip-timed, usually reaches its maximum limit of 350 competitors and therefore, early booking is recommended. Full information about the race can be found at www.thetford-ac.co.uk with entry for affiliated club runners standing at £14 with the entry cost rising to £16 for unaffiliated runners. There will also be a children’s fun run costing £2 which can be paid on the day. Last year Robert Chenery of Ipswich Jaffa RC won the race in a time of 34:01 Top female was Alice Heather Hayes (38:04).
