Saham continued their good league form with a crushing 251-run win against Dersingham at the weekend.

After being put into bat Saham scored a massive 296-3 and declared after 38 overs.

For the second week running A Wood and G Maxwell put on a 100 opening partnership before A Wood fell having scored 42.

G Maxwell continued his good form and blitzed his way to 152 which included 12 fours and eight sixes. He shared 115-run partnership with S Mower (69 not out) who hit nine fours and three sixes.

An under-strength Dersingham side were no match for Saham's bowlers and were bowled out for just 45.

T Smart claimed the bowling honours with figures off 11-3-27-5 whilst G Leggett and an excellent spell of 5-2-9-1.

I Lovick wrapped up the innings by claiming two wickets in 10 balls without conceding a run.

The following day, Saham Toney travelled to Downham Market in the Stan Biss Cup and suffered a 74-run defeat.

Downham batted first and scored 240-6 off their 50 overs with A Phangiso scoring 83. He received good support from A Stuart (31), D Lanchester (38) and A Corbett (32).

In response, Saham got off to a flying start with G Maxwell scoring 44 but could not sustain the momentum and despite various players getting starts no-one good went on to make a bigger score as Saham were 166 all out.

During the week, Saham U15s got their season off to a winning start when they had a convincing win against their Thetford counterparts.
