Thetford Town recorded an emphatic home win on Saturday to move up to fifth in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division table.
The Brecklanders were too strong for lowly Hadleigh, with former Norwich City forward Cameron King plundering a hat-trick as they won 5-2.
Ben Anderson and Ryan Fuller also found the target for Danny White’s in-form side, who are now unbeaten in seven matches after three wins and four draws.
Having moved into the top five, with no realistic chance of going any higher, Town will now be aiming to stay there as they prepare for successive away matches, with Stanway Rovers and Great Yarmouth Town breathing down their necks.
They visit Saffron Walden on Saturday before heading to Brantham the following weekend. Positive results there would set them up nicely for the eagerly awaited derby with champions-elect Mildenhall at Mundford Road on Easter Monday.
