Thetford Town completed an impressive league double over Wivenhoe on Saturday to end the year on a real high note.
Danny White’s side hammered the struggling Essex outfit 6-0, just as they had done at Mundford Road back in November.
The big win also maintained an impressive scoring streak for the Brecklanders who notched up 26 goals in their seven games in December, a run that includes a goalless draw and a 1-0 defeat. Andrew Wood was the star man for Thetford with a hat-trick while Alex McIntosh, Max Melanson and Robbie Priddle were also on target. The visitors were always in control and made their superiority tell in the second half when they scored four times.
Town finished the year exactly midway in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division table with 39 points from 27 games. They are at home to Stanway Rovers, the side immediately above them, on Saturday.
