Young motorists who have been causing a nuisance in a Norfolk village could have their cars seized by police.

Officers are launching a crackdown in Mundford, near Thetford, after local people complained about drivers gathering in St Leonards Street and near the village shop.

Officers are launching a crackdown in Mundford, near Thetford, after local people complained about drivers gathering in St Leonards Street and near the village shop.

Residents claim they are creating noise nuisance, including playing loud music from their vehicles.

Officers have increased patrols in the area and will be issuing warning notices to drivers if they cause a nuisance with their vehicles.

If officers issue a second warning within a 12-month period then the vehicle will be seized.

PCSO Maria Marquiss, who covers the rural areas near Thetford, said: “We have swiftly responded to concerns in Mundford and are working closely with residents to prevent young drivers from causing a nuisance in the village. We will be seizing vehicles, if motorists continue to cause anti-social issues with their cars.”
