A FUNDRAISING feast with an ethnic twist in aid of Great Hockham Primary School, near Attleborough, raised 1353.59 for school funds.
The curry and quiz night, held on July 4, in the village hall, gave volunteers from the Friends of Great Hockham Primary School the chance to learn to cook eastern cuisine with a little help from local food producer Don Lear of Bhajiman Products.
Everything on the night was locally-produced and donated free of charge, from the curry kits, spicy ingredients and cooking expertise supplied by Mr Lear, to meat supplied by village butchers B J Barnards, vegetables given by local bed and breakfast and farm shop Manor Farm, and beer from Calvors Brewery in Suffolk.
The money raised by the Friends will be spent on playground and sports equipment for the school.
