More than 100 people entered a prize draw to win a hamper at the launch event of a new initiative to promote local and independent shops.

ShopAppy helps local high street retailers battle national chains by allowing customers to browse and buy their products online.

It was launched by Breckland Council in Swaffham on Friday, April 13.

The Prize hamper had £100 worth of local goods donated by businesses.

Karen Gay was the lucky winner of the hamper which was presented to her by Kay Wells of the Market Cross Cafe, Swaffham.

The cafe is one of the ShopAppy collection points.

Shoppers are able to collect their items from the shops they purchased them from or from collection points which have extended opening times past normal hours.

More than 100 shops across Thetford, Swaffham, Dereham, Watton and Attleborough have joined the project.
