Pupils at a Brandon school were able to learn more about the weather from forecaster and meteorologist Chris Bell.
Year seven, eight and nine students at IES Breckland were able to monitor the weather and found out how to become a weather presenter from Mr Bell who works at Weather Quest and is a forecaster on BBC Look East.
He brought many of the instruments he uses to help him forecast the weather to show the year seven science pupils to help them with measurements using their own anemometers they had made in class.
As well as estimating wind speed the youngsters also had a go at measuring the wind direction using a compass and bubbles. Mr Bell, who is also a storm chaser, also explained importance of meteorology, science and geography in predicting hazardous weather.
The pupils were very interested to see footage of tornados and how they can be monitored safely.
