A THETFORD beauty spot can now be enjoyed whatever the weather after a formerly impassable walkway was resurfaced.
The footpath across Butten Island and a mud path along Spring Walk was often difficult to access in wet weather.
Now the Brecks Partnership, alongside several volunteer groups, has raised and resurfaced the Butten Island path, removed fencing next to Bridge Walk and cleared scrub and bushes.
The path along Spring Walk has also been resurfaced and key-lock fencing replaced with new railing and painted green.
Brecks Partnership manager Neil Featherstone said the work had ensured the paths could be used for most of the year but that the land would still be susceptible to flooding when the river was a peak flow.
He said: “A large number of organisations have been involved in just a small area of Thetford and we can already see more people are enjoying the site as a result of these improvements.”
