Volunteers are still needed for an exciting oral history project launched in Swaffham.

Swaffham Museum was recently awarded 50,000 by the Heritage Lottery Fund to create a sound archive and display of stories about Swaffham people, buildings and events from 1930 to 2010.

The museum is currently recruiting a team of volunteers to carry out oral history interviews, edit digital sound clips and produce a new museum display as part of the project, Swaffham: Within Living Memory.

Anyone who is interested in history, wants to learn some new skills and enjoys listening to people tell their story will be welcome and full training will be provided.

The role is flexible but volunteers must be able to attend a one day oral history workshop on August 2 and commit to carrying out at least three oral history interviews over a six month period.

To become a volunteer or find out more about the project, contact heritage development officer Sian Hogarth on 01760 721230 or email hdo@swaffhammuseum.co.uk.
