Views sought on new Brandon free school

Two further consultations on a new free school for Brandon have been planned.

Breckland Middle School in Brandon is set to close under a Suffolk County Council education shake-up in July, which has paved the way for a community-run educational trust – Sabres (Save Breckland School) – and a Swedish-owned private company to establish IES Breckland.

The school is due to open in September under principal designate Sherry Zand and is the first in England to use an education provider.

The first consultation evening will be held on
March 23 at 7pm at Breckland Middle School, while
the second will be on April
14 between 10.30am and 12.30pm at Brandon Leisure Centre.

The two events will form part of a six week consultation which will run until April 20 and allow people to have their say on the school.

A further event, which will not form part of the consultation, will be held on March 10 for people to meet the new principal and ask any questions. This will be at Brandon Leisure Centre between 11am and 3pm.
