TORNADOS from RAF Marham will be among those taking part in training sorties over Norfolk over the coming weeks, before deploying to Afghanistan.
Much of the training will take place at Stanta Training area near Thetford, but small parties of forward air controllers will be deployed through out Norfolk, including Sculthorpe and Watton airfields, to practice controlling aircraft on to fictitious targets, using the same procedures that are employed when on deployed on operations.
Whilst no weapons are employed in this training, the RAF said residents may notice a small increase in noise levels from time to time although every effort will be made by both the Ground Controllers and the aircrew flying the aircraft to minimise any impact this may have.
