Thugs assault helpful cyclist

A cyclist was set upon by two attackers in Thetford as he went to the aid of another man who had fallen off his bike.

Detectives are appealing for information following the incident, which happened between 8pm and 8.

Detectives are appealing for information following the incident, which happened between 8pm and 8.15pm on Wednesday in Icknield Way.

The 27-year-old victim was cycling home after visiting a friend when he saw a man lying on the floor who had apparently fallen off his bike. As he went to help, he was set upon by two unknown men.

One struck the back of his head and the other punched the side of his face. The victim fled on his bike.
