Two men and a girl have been arrested following an armed robbery at a village post office on the Norfolk-Suffolk border last week.

Staff were left shaken when a man entered Hopton Post Office, between Thetford and Diss, armed with a knife and a handgun at around 11.10am last Wednesday.

The man made off with a quantity of cash before speeding down Thelnetham Road in a dark-coloured people carrier and disappearing.

Suffolk Police today said that a 26-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl, both from the Grays area of Essex, are in custody at Grays police station after being arrested in connection with the robbery.

A 27-year-old man from the Bury St Edmunds area is in custody at Bury St Edmunds police station. All three will be questioned today.

Officers spoke to around 60 people in Hopton on Wednesday as they carried out anniversary checks a week after the daylight raid.
