CHILDREN in Thetford have been limbering up for a Judo workshop.
Year one and two children from Raleigh Infant, Queensway Infant and Redcastle Furze schools enjoyed the event, which was led by Judo coach Jo Tippett as part of the Thetford Gifted and Talented Partnership.
The children had the opportunity to work alongside new friends to complete a range of Judo activities. They learnt about the origins of Judo, Japanese words, grappling moves and throwing techniques.
Year one pupil Byron said: βIt was really exciting. I enjoyed learning how to throw my partner.β
The workshop helped the children develop their PE skills further by trying a new sport.
Mrs Tippett leads a Judo club at the Scout Hut school on Thursday evenings, for children and adults. Call 01842 763708 for more details or visit www. kumojudoclubthetford.co.uk
