Youngsters celebrated the Olympics with a vocal arrangement in front of friends and family this week.
The Thetford Voices Workshop included pupils from four Thetford schools who sang three songs as a round, with each part following on from the other in a relay.
Some 75 children from Admmiral’s Junior, Queensway Junior and Redcastle Family schools took part at Monday’s event, at Thetford Grammar School, which included a 15 minute presentation to parents.
The songs, written by Thetford Voices leader John Weeks, included Sing Hey-Ho, which was based on the history of the modern Olympic games, and Spirit of the Games, suggesting friendships rather than fame would be a significant legacy of the games.
The youngsters sang with piano and harp accompaniment as well as acted, danced and composed and learnt about the Olympic movement with 123 days to go to London 2012.
