A Thetford teenager today begins a minimum of 20 years in prison after stabbing his friend to death in a row over stolen drugs.
Ryan Bowers, 19, of Ely Way, was last week found guilty of killing Anthony Adams, of Norwich Road, also 19, after stabbing him in the heart and liver with two small knives in June last year.
Appearing at Norwich Crown Court, Bowers had been warned he could expect a 25 year minimum sentence but speaking today Judge Peter Jacobs took into his account the defendant’s age, a degree of provocation during the incident and a lack of premeditation.
Bowers was sentenced to life in prison, to serve a minimum of 20 years.
