Class 8B at Thetford Grammar School took part in a Mad Hair and Wrong Trousers day in aid of the people of Haiti following last month's earthquake.
Different colour hair and wacky legs filtered through the school gates early in the day and all children donated a “golden” coin for their efforts.
A total of �721.85 was raised for the charity Shelter Box, through Thetford's rotary club, an international disaster relief charity which provides humanitarian aid worldwide.
Each ShelterBox contains a 10-person tent, blankets, water purification and cooking equipment, basic tools, a stove and other essential equipment. All boxes are numbered so they can be tracked by donors.
The school raised enough money for one Shelter Box and two Aqua Gold boxes to be sent. The rest was sent to the rotary club to put towards another Shelter Box.
