PUPIL from schools in Thetford are among a group of Construction Young Apprentices at West Suffolk College who are completing their work experience with an innovative Build-a-Bungalow project.
They are taking part in the project which is being sponsored by local firms, including Buildbase in Thetford and Haymills in Stowmarket who already support YA construction students.
The Young Apprentices, all year 11 school pupils, are building two miniature 'bungalows' to deadline within a site-based working environment at the College's Anglian Lane site.
They come to College one day a week from local schools, including Rosemary Musker and Charles Burrell High School.

“This is a unique event and the first of its kind to be held in the Eastern Region,” said School Links co-ordinator Carol King. “The students are building scale models which incorporate the brickwork, carpentry and construction techniques used in real life house building. They are bringing a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and skill to the task.”
