A Thetford sixth form student has seen her artwork hung in a London gallery as part of an exhibition showcasing some of the best young artists in the country.
Sophie Townsend, a pupil at Thetford Academy, was selected to show her work at The Mall Galleries on The Mall near Buckingham Palace.
Her large self-portraits, which she paints with acrylic using her fingers, was selected by the Royal Society of British Artists as part of the National Students Art Exhibition.
This celebrates outstanding work produced by school children and sixth form students from around the country and 240 paintings and photographs are chosen to be shown alongside paintings by member of the Royal Society of British Painters.
Sophie’s paintings will also be on show this summer in Thetford, in the Charles Burrell Museum, as part of the Thetford Festival from August 25 to September 1.
