Knitters wanted to help with Remembrance Day poppy project
Keen knitters are being encouraged to help create poppies which will form part of a town’s Remembrance Day events.
The Thetford Poppy Project will see a 5,000 poppies draped down the Guildhall clock tower to meet with the giant poppy on the Royal British Legion building.
So far more than 930 poppies have been knitted and crocheted by individuals and members of Thetford’s Ancient House Museums Knitter Natter group.
Groups are being held in the Guildhall for people to attend to make the poppies and meet and speak to others.
The sessions will run from 11.30pm until 1pm on June 5, June 26, July 17 and August 7.
Poppy patterns are available to download online or leaflets can be picked up from the council offices in King’s House and The Carnegie Room.
