THE region fell silent on Sunday, as thousands of people turned out onto the streets to remember those who died serving their country in global conflicts.
A still, sunny day also played a part as countless people joined Remembrance Day services and parades to honour those who fell in past and present conflicts, and those who are putting their lives on the line today in Afghanistan.
In Thetford, James Harcus, who was home on leave from the AAC (Army Air Corp) Aldergrove Northern Ireland, laid a wreath on behalf of the British Legion.
He has served in many countries including Bosnia, Ireland, and Iraq and will probably go to Afghanistan next year. He recently got married and his wife lives in Thetford.
