Family-friendly Tudor event to be held at museum
Visitors will be transported back to the time of the Tudors at Thetford’s Ancient House Museum later this month.
The year is 1578 and the museum is preparing for a visit of Queen Elizabeth I.
Visitors will be able to help create a menu fit for a Queen and explore a Tudor medicine cabinet during the family-friendly day.
The event, on Tuesday, May 29, will take place between 10am and 1pm.
Museum Learning Assistant, Kathryn Knock said “I’m thrilled to be playing a Tudor here in this amazing timber framed merchant’s house.
“I’m looking forward to sharing with the visitors some of its extraordinary features such as the intricately carved oak panelling and taper burns used to protect the building. In order to encourage visitors to explore the building’s features we will also be running an Ancient House’s secrets trail.”
It is a drop-in event and will cost £2 per person.
