A junior football side is showing what team spirit can achieve by running 1,400 miles for a hospice.
Each of Thetford Bulldog Belles’ team of 12 to 14-year-olds is running 100 miles each between March and May 30 - the day of the FA Cup final.
The 14 team members will be clocking up 1,400 miles - the equivalent of running from Thetford to Seville.
Rick Horn, the Belles’ manager, said money raised would go to St Nicholas Hospice Care, based in Bury St Edmunds, as a number of the team had seen family go into the hospice.
“One of our girls lost her parents this year and another has a parent who is ill now so we thought it seemed a good cause to back,” he said.
“They were really keen to do it and they the know importance of what the hospice does.”
The team hope to raise £2,000 and have been invted to hand the money at the hospice once they have completed the challenge.
