More than 200 people braved the bad weather on Saturday morning to don their best Halloween outfits and run 5k.

Young and old participants arrived at Thetford Priory for a 9am start on October 27 in a variety of costumes, including skeletons, witches, devils, and bears.

Melanie Sturman, who started Thetford Parkrun in 2013, said: “We do quite a lot of themed events to make parkrun fun and family friendly. The weather didn’t get in the way, it was cold and dry, thankfully no rain.”

Holkham Parkrun also opted for a spooky theme, with runners donning pumpkin and Frankenstein outfits on the day.

Runner David Sharp said: “A really good turnout on a cold and wet day, with lots of people dressing up including the volunteers. Holkham is always well supported with an active and friendly bunch of volunteers.”
