A grant has enabled Thetford Grammar School to purchase essential equipment for Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) expeditions.

A centre of excellence for the scheme, the school conducts expeditions for bronze, silver and gold awards.
The school was awarded a grant of £644 from the Bernard Matthews Fund following an application from maths teacher and expedition leader Steven Braden. New tents and cookers have been purchased.
Pupils are currently preparing for their practice expedition in Thetford Forest later this year where they will use the new equipment.
Pupil Mia said: “It will be exciting to spend the night in a tent and cook our own food.”
Mr Braden said: “We are delighted with the grant.
“The DofE is the world’s leading youth achievement award and enables young people to get involved and open up their world to new interests, talents, friends and fun.”
