Thetford celebrates classic British TV show filmed in the town
A Norfolk town was taken back in time to the 1940s as part of a celebration of a classic TV series filmed in the area.
Thetford became alive with music, vehicles and period dress on Saturday, May 9 to celebrate Dad's Army Day organised by the Dad's Army Museum based in the town.
Re-enactors from the museum brought along 1940s singers The Ruby Twins who entertained the crowds and the classic Jones the Butcher's Van.
The event, lasting from 10am to 4pm, was free to all and allowed visitors to go inside the museum.
As well as the day in town the weekend was kicked-off with a performance from the Dad's Army Radio team at the Carnegie Room located next to the museum on Cage Lane.
The celebrations continued elsewhere in South Norfolk with a 1940s day in Bressingham on Sunday, May 12.
