The Salvation Army's Anglia Youth Band - which is made up of talented young musicians drawn from the East Anglian counties of Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire - are giving a concert in Thetford on Saturday, March 14.

Conducted by bandmaster Paul Winterbourne, the 40-strong band performs at concerts and charity events both locally and further afield, and this year's events will include the prestigious charity garden party at Stradsett Hall, near Downham Market, a tour of Northern Ireland in May, and a visit to Colchester in October.

The band members are no strangers to travel having toured Majorca, Tenerife, and the Czech Republic in recent years, promoting the work of the Salvation Army in those areas.

The concert in St Cuthbert's Church, Well Street, Thetford starts at 7.30pm, and will feature music for everyone from the band's repertoire, which ranges from traditional foot tapping marches to arrangements of popular hymns and songs from the musical theatre.

Admission is 3, and there is free parking nearby. For further details contact Val Chaplin on 01362 638229.
