Thetford and Brandon landmark depicted in Christmas cards

A RIVER that runs for 23 rural miles and connects Thetford and Brandon has been chosen as the centrepiece for a charity Christmas card.

Winter images of the Little Ouse in both towns adorn the front of the festive cards produced by St Nicholas Hospice Care this year.

The cards - which also include beautiful winter scenes of all the towns where the Hospice has retail shops - are now out on sale with all proceeds made going to the charity and its Community Nurse Appeal run in conjunction with the Times.

Retail manager Mark Lees said: “We have chosen the scenes very carefully as we wanted to pay tribute to the heritage of each town where we run our successful shops.

“The Little Ouse is a beautiful landmark in both Thetford and Brandon and we are very proud to have a festive scene of it on the front of this year's Christmas cards.

“There are also some more modern, quirky and humorous cards out on sale - the perfect way to wish someone a Merry Christmas while helping our patients during the festive period.”

The Hospice has also this year produced e-Christmas cards which businesses and individuals can give out for a donation to the charity.

The traditional cards and the e-cards can be viewed on the Hospice website www.stnicholashospice.org.uk

The cards are now on sale at the Hospice shops in Bridge Street, Thetford, and London Road, Brandon, and also at the Hospice in Bury St Edmunds or by calling 01284 747621.
