BBC One’s political debate programme, Question Time, will be hosted from the Thetford Academy today, Thursday, June 6.
The community secondary school and sixth form, part of the Inspiration Trust, will host an episode of the current series of the long-running show, now presented by Fiona Bruce.
It is said to be the nation's most popular political debate programme and hears from a range of voices.
Thetford Academy principal, Dan Carter, said: "Through our curriculum we already cover a wide range of political and civic issues, and having Question Time broadcast from the academy is a great way of bringing that into focus, particularly with so many live and exciting issues from Brexit to the Conservative Party leadership race and Donald Trump's state visit." Students have the chance to go behind the scenes and meet the producers of the show and see how the stage is set-up.
Mr Carter added: "It is also a chance for students to see behind the scenes in putting together a programme like this.
"The crew will be on site the day before putting together the set and getting everything ready. There is a massive amount of work that needs to happen, and that can open pupils' eyes to lots of careers they may not have considered before."
On the panel will be journalist and television personality, Piers Morgan, Editor of the Daily Mirror, Alison Philips, Chair of the Treasury Select Committee, Nicky Morgan, Shadow Treasury minister Anneliese Dodds, and SNP spokesman on business, energy and industrial strategy, Drew Hendry.
The programme being filmed at Thetford Academy follows the recording of BBC's Any Questions which is a political show aired on Radio 4.
The programme visited Norfolk last year recording in King's Lynn and Norwich.
"The Question Time team have been very keen to work with the academy and their schedule includes chances for our pupils to meet with the production team and find out more about the programme," Mr Carter added.
"More generally it is great for Thetford to have the profile of appearing on the show, and we are looking forward to welcoming the members of the local community selected to be in the audience in to take part in the show. We are lucky to have these great facilities and we try to share them as much as possible."
