A popular steam museum will reopen its doors for the season in April.
The Charles Burrell Museum will host its annual open day and will welcome steam engines from other museum and organisations which will join the museum’s marquee engine, the Queen Mary.
The event will take place on Sunday, April 16 from 10am to 3pm and will include an Easter egg hunt for youngsters.
Another star attraction at the museum is Jones’ butchers van, from the classic BBC comedy series Dad’s Army, which is kept at the building on Minstergate for the Dad’s Army Museum.
The museum is also looking for volunteers who would be willing to give up as much as time as they can.
Derek Antrobus, assistant manager at the museum and who has been volunteering there since 1991, said: “Nobody needs any experience as long as you like steam or have an interest in engineering.”
