Young people from all over the region have been having fun learning about the wonder of steam during a special apprentice weekend in Weeting.
The group, who are all part of the National Traction Engine Trust's junior section, spent Saturday and Sunday working with traction engines at Fengate Farm under the watchful eyes of steam enthusiast Richard Parrot and other volunteers.
The event was a taster for the annual Weeting Steam Engine Rally and Country Show in July.
Rally co-ordinator Wendy Young said: “The young people all looked like they were having a great time with the engines.
“They certainly all looked the part - covered in coal dust from the engines and wearing overalls and caps.”
Weeting Steam Engine Rally is at Fengate Farm on July 17, 18 and 19 this year.
The annual event first began in 1968 to help raise funds for a new village hall and it has gone on to become one of the highlights of the summer calendar with hundreds of tractors, showman's engines and other steam-powered machines descending on the village.
