SPEEDING in Brandon has been removed as a top priority for the town's Safer Neighbourhood Team following a public meeting.

Officers from the SNT and Roads Policing Unit conducted speed checks on London Road, Thetford Green, Rattlers Road and the High Street and handed out warnings and traffic tickets.

According to the SNT, and Suffolk County Council which carried out a Speed Detection Radar operation, there is now “good compliance with the speed limit” with no justification for altering speed limits of introducing extra cameras or speed bumps.

The speeding priority was set up to look for a long-term solution to the issue of speeding in Brandon.

Following the work over the past few months it was decided the issue will remain one of enforcement and form part of the daily business of the police rather than a priority.
