A rescue dog being cared for in Norfolk was given a starring role on the stage.

One year-old Terrier cross Disandat, who is being cared for at the Dogs Trust in Snetterton and has no prior acting experience, played the role of Toto in the Wizard of Oz.

Starring alongside CBeebies star Sarah-Jane Honeywell, Tracy Beaker star Dani Harmer and comedy legend Bobby Davro the production of The Wizard of Oz took place last week at Great Yarmouth pier.

Dogs Trust Snetterton supporter relations officer, Kate Brewster, aid: “Disandat is a very loving boy who is desperate to find his perfect home, so it’s all the more special that he was offered this cameo.

“He’s been with us at the centre since the beginning of March after being found as a stray and now and he’s desperately missing the comfort of a home environment.

“He’s a very energetic and friendly boy who loves playing fetch and giving kisses.

“We’re hoping that someone will spot his star talent and come forward. As Dorothy says in the Wizard of Oz ‘there’s no place like home’.”

To offer Disandat a home call Dogs Trust Snetterton on 01953 498377 or drop into the rehoming centre at North End Road, Snetterton, Norfolk, NR16 2LD.
