A prisoner who escaped from an American airbase last week has been spotted at a Suffolk town.

Airman Basic Jeremy Parrott, 29, who was serving a three year sentence for child pornography offences, was attending a medical appointment at RAF Lakenheath on Wednesday when he fled from a police escort.

Officials from the US Air Force today revealed that there was a confirmed sighting of the American in Brandon on Friday evening.

The airman is described as white, 5ft 10inches tall, weighs 15st, with brown cropped hair. He was reported on Friday to be wearing a black or dark blue American style baseball hat, a dark blue or grey jacket or hoodie style top, blue jeans and white shoes.

A USAF spokesman said there was no indication that Parrott's presence in Brandon posed a threat or placed anyone in danger.

“Parrott is believed to be on foot and without ready access to means of subsistence which may force him to look for alternate means of food, clothing and shelter and to possibly seek assistance, including transportation. Citizens and businesses throughout the town centre were made aware of the sighting,”

“The Air Force Office of Special Investigations continues to work this and all leads closely with Suffolk and Norfolk Constabularies and Ministry of Defence Police,” said the spokesman.

Anyone who sees the airman is asked to contact the local police or the 48th Security Forces Control Centre at 01638 522 333.
