Girl Guides from Mildenhall had the opportunity to interview inspirational women from RAF Lakenheath.
The mentoring event, called Inspiring Leaders, was a chance for 2nd Mildenhall Guides to meet and interview servicemen from the US air base.
The women, from varying fields including the 48th Civil Engineer Squadron, talked about their stories and experiences in the hope of broadening the girls’ future career aspirations.
Each guide got to interview the officers who brought props related to their career fields to help describe their jobs.
“The aspirations of the girls are very stereotypically female-oriented,” said Abigail Gilby, Guider in charge of the 2nd Mildenhall Guides. “There is so much more available to them, and they are capable of more than they realize.
