Until repairs are carried out it will be inspected to check the footbridge is still safe to use.
It is about 1km south east of the village of Santon Downham and goes over the River Little Ouse.
A new start date has not been confirmed.
The planned works will consist of replacing all the existing timber deck boards and repairing damaged sections of the timber fences.
