Visitors to this year’s Royal Norfolk Show are being advised to take care in the sun today.

Both the East of England Ambulance Service Trust and St John Ambulance have staff at the event today.

But in order to avoid needing their help, people are asked to ensure they stay hydrated and stay in the shade.

Rob Hayes, from the East of England Ambulance Service Trust, said: “My advice is to wear light clothing and make sure you drink lots of water.

“Also don’t forget the sunscreen and stay in the shade as much as possible.”

St John Ambulance has around 40 staff at the event.

The charity has several first aid units across the showground. There is also a medical centre at the MacGregor building.

Mr Hayes added: “If someone is ill, they can come to the first aid post or speak to a steward as a first point of contact.”

The Met Office has forecast sunshine all day today and temperatures of around 18C.
