Police have ruled out foul play following the discovery of a man's body in the river at Thetford over the weekend.
Detectives today confirmed that the death of the 38-year-old man, who has not yet been named, was not being treated at suspicious.
An investigation was launched into the unexplained death on Sunday after the body was discovered at midday by a member of the public near Spring Walk.
The riverside footpath, which is popular with dog walkers, was closed for more than 24 hours between Bridges Walk and Nuns Bridges.
A Norfolk Police spokeswoman said that following inquiries and a Home Office post-mortem examination, the incident was no longer suspicious and the 38-year-old local man had not yet been formally identified.
The file has been passed to the coroner and an inquest will open in due course.
