Pedestrian dead after early morning lorry crash on busy road

Police have confirmed a pedestrian has died after a serious lorry crash on a major road.
About 4am on June 7, officers from Suffolk Constabulary received reports saying a lorry had been involved in a serious crash on the northbound carriageway of the A11, close to Barton Mills, between Mildenhall and Red Lodge.
Police, paramedics and the air ambulance were all sent to the scene.
A police spokesman said: "We can confirm that a man has died following a serious collision on the A11.
"Officers were called at around 3.50am this morning, Friday, June 7, to reports of a serious collision on the northbound A11 at Barton Mills involving a lorry.
"The northbound carriageway remains closed from the B1085 at Red Lodge to the A1101 Five Ways Roundabout to allow an investigation into the collision to take place."
The road was closed for several hours while police carried out investigations, before being re-opened at 12.15pm.
An ambulance spokesman said: "We were called at 3.54am with reports of a collision on the A11 in Barton Mills.
"We sent two ambulances, an ambulance officer and East Anglian Air Ambulance.
"Sadly despite our best efforts one man died at the scene."
Police have asked any witnesses or anybody who may have any relevant dash-cam footage are asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101 quoting CAD 24 of today, 7 June.
