THE staff and pupils at Rosemary Musker High School donned red outfits to raise money for Sport Relief.
On Friday, March 19, during their normal PE lessons, the students took part in a sponsored Sport Relief mile. Some decided to run the mile, while others completed it at a walk, crawl or hop.
The day was also a non-uniform day, with staff and students donating 1 to wear whatever they wanted as long as it was of a sporty theme, and included at least one red item. Fancy dress was also an option.
More sporty fun was organised by the PE and drama department at lunchtime with a sports fair in the gym. Anyone who wanted to pay a small donation could enter the fair and take part in different games to win prizes. These included a hula hoop competition, golf, basketball and speed stacking challenges and also a guess how many eggs in a jar contest.
To continue the hula theme, each member of staff was asked to see how long they could keep the hula going and the students would guess to see which teacher was the best at the hula hula.
The day was a huge success with more than 1,000 being raised for the charity.
Main organisers Louise Harrison and Nicola Best thanked all staff and students who helped make the event such a huge success.
