MORE than a thousand pounds was raised by children for bereaved youngsters.
Riddlesworth School, near Diss, donated 1,500 to Nelson's Journey, a Norfolk-based charity which supports children who have lost a loved one with an autumn fair.
Headmaster Paul Cochrane said: “We wanted to support Nelson's Journey because a number of our children have been affected by recent bereavements and we feel very strongly that we should support local charities.”
Fundraising officer for the charity, Sophie Berry, said: “Being a children's charity we are pleased when schools chose to support us as it helps to heighten awareness of those children who have experienced the death of a significant person in their life.
“The money raised by pupils and parents of those attending the school will enable us to continue supporting bereaved children in Norfolk.”
