A prisoner who absconded whilst on day release in Brandon has been recaptured by police in London.David Matthew Ambler, who was serving a three year sentence for robbery at a secure unit in London, was being escorted to an address in the Suffolk town when he ran off along St Margaret's Drive on Thursday morning.
A prisoner who absconded whilst on day release in Brandon has been recaptured by police in London.
David Matthew Ambler, who was serving a three year sentence for robbery at a secure unit in London, was being escorted to an address in the Suffolk town when he ran off along St Margaret's Drive on Thursday morning.
Officers from Suffolk Police were deployed to search the area and make house-to-house enquiries.
A spokesman for Suffolk Police said the 31-year-old was arrested by officers from the Metropolitan Police in the Stoke Newington area of London on Friday afternoon. Ambler has been returned to prison.
